Elif is Ladin Kazman’s fourth year CalArts character animation short.
It was first shown during the Character Animation Open Show in April of 2022 and selected to be screened at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures David Geffen Theater on May 4th in the CalArts Producers Show.
Using semi-detached yet regionally accurate sounds, the concept of the film was to present memories while not resorting to tropey dream effects. Presenting the story in an almost documental and sonically minimalist fashion.
